First Friends

For older adults retired and not so retired!

First Friends is our church’s vibrant ministry for older adults. Activities planned target our almost retired, just retired, and considerably retired members and friends. The ministry goal for First Friends is “to focus on the spiritual and social needs of our senior adult members, and to connect the senior adults with one and other and with the church family for fellowship, service and personal growth.”  We recognize that older adults approach the later years in a variety of ways, and we seek to be sensitive to the broad range of activities that might be appropriate in this ministry.

Upcoming Events:
  • “From Vases to Faces” Beginning Drawing Class (4 week class)
    Begins October 18 at 1:30. Taught by Ann Cowden Meador and Mike Sowers. RSVP by October 15.
    Supplies for the first two weeks: 2B, 4B, & 6B pencils (at least one of each), a kneaded eraser, and a spiral drawing pad no smaller than 9″ x 12″. These supplies can be found at Michael’s, Jerry’s Artarama, Plaza Art Supply, Amazon, and some office superstores.
  • Senior Pickleball
    Fridays at 3:00 P.M. Recreation Director, Bryan Miller, will have courts and equipment available on Fridays in the Enrichment Center.
