First Friends

For older adults retired and not so retired!

First Friends is our church’s vibrant ministry for older adults. Activities planned target our almost retired, just retired, and considerably retired members and friends. The ministry goal for First Friends is “to focus on the spiritual and social needs of our senior adult members, and to connect the senior adults with one and other and with the church family for fellowship, service and personal growth.”  We recognize that older adults approach the later years in a variety of ways, and we seek to be sensitive to the broad range of activities that might be appropriate in this ministry.

Upcoming Events:
  • First Friends Day Trip to Tennessee State Museum, February 12 at 10:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M.
    Admission to the museum is free, and we will eat lunch at the farmers market. RSVP by February 8.
  • First Friends Celebrates John Guider, February 21 at 12:00 P.M. in Courtenay Hall
    John will share his experience of tracing John Donelson’s historic river journey in 1779 that led to the founding of Nashville. The documentary was featured on local public television. Lunch cost $6. RSVP by February 18.
  • Senior Pickleball, Fridays at 3:00 P.M. in Enrichment Center
    Recreation Director, Bryan Miller, will have courts and equipment available on Fridays in the Enrichment Center.
