First Friends

For older adults retired and not so retired!

First Friends is our church’s vibrant ministry for older adults. Activities planned target our almost retired, just retired, and considerably retired members and friends. The ministry goal for First Friends is “to focus on the spiritual and social needs of our senior adult members, and to connect the senior adults with one and other and with the church family for fellowship, service and personal growth.”  We recognize that older adults approach the later years in a variety of ways, and we seek to be sensitive to the broad range of activities that might be appropriate in this ministry.

Upcoming Events:
  • First Friends Day Trip to Leiper’s Fork
    April 11 from 11:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M.
    We will have lunch at Puckett’s. RSVP by April 9.
  • First Friends Sunday Lunch
    April 15 at 12:00 p.m. at Firebirds Woodfired Grill
    RSVP by March 16.
  • First Friends Celebrates Our Own, Bob Rolfe
    April 19 at 12:00 p.m. in Courtenay Hall
    Lunch is $6; RSVP by March 12.
  • Book Discussion
    April 26 at 2:00 P.M. in Memorial Library
    Todd Jones will lead discussion on Leaving Lucy Pear, by Ann Solomon.
