First Friends

For older adults retired and not so retired!

First Friends is our church’s vibrant ministry for older adults. Activities planned target our almost retired, just retired, and considerably retired members and friends. The ministry goal for First Friends is “to focus on the spiritual and social needs of our senior adult members, and to connect the senior adults with one and other and with the church family for fellowship, service and personal growth.”  We recognize that older adults approach the later years in a variety of ways, and we seek to be sensitive to the broad range of activities that might be appropriate in this ministry.

Upcoming Events:
  • First Friends Sunday Lunch at Etc. – October 15, 12:00 p.m. – RSVP October 13
    • Meet in the foyer after worship to ride the church bus to Etc. in Green Hills.
  • First Friends Program/Luncheon – October 19, 12:00 p.m. – RSVP October 16
    • Join us as we celebrate Cliff and Ann Meador in Courtenay Hall. Cliff, a physician and author, will be speaking about patients with symptoms of unknown origin. Lunch costs $6.
  • First Friends Day Trip to Miller’s Grocery – October 27, 10:00 a.m. – RSVP October 25
    • First Friends will visit Miller’s Grocery in Christiana, TN.
Book of the Month for September:

Ordinary Grace, by Kent Krueger – book discussion led by Pastor Todd Jones, November 30 at 2:00 p.m. in Memorial Library.
